“Jackie O.”

I'm a young professional with a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Maryland in Communication with a specialization in Digital Media. My specialties include: marketing, graphic design, videography, social media, and digital art.

My journey through the Communications realm begun as a freshman at Loyola, when I thought about a career in journalism. After a few classes, I realized that video and design suited me better.

Photography was the beginning of my digital media love affair. I was introduced to photography by my grandma. She used to keep a dozen or so photo albums beneath her coffee table and I would look at them for hours. Since then the need to capture memories has consumed me. Soon that love of photography expanded into videography; starting with family vacation videos, to taking a real class and learning how to use proper video editing software. Now, I find myself take videos whenever I get the opportunity.

Graphic design came into play when I realized how much I really enjoy doodling. When looking at any notebook I own, you can find doodles in all the margins. I decided to take an introductory graphics course and fell in love. Now I'm taking those doodles and my need for precision into applications like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I can spend hours at a time perfecting one design and show it to my friends as if it were a newborn baby. Building off of my love for Graphic Design, I recently dove head first into the digital art world. Using an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and the app Procreate, I have begun to draw in a new way! It’s been an exciting hobby to explore and skill to build.

When I find something that interests me, I like to grab it and run - something I've done with video, design, and now, digital art.

I'm still a small-town, Long Island girl through and through. Even at 27-years-old, you can find me ordering a coke and chicken fingers and watching Glee whenever I have free time. I have a swift love for Long Island bagels, all things pink, the Real Housewives, and anything having to do with turtles.

I currently work as a marketing professional for a millwork firm on Long Island. I’m available for freelance work.
